New Jersey CCARE & Concealed Carry Course
This class covers New Jersey's required Use of Force training and the CCARE live-fire course for students preparing to apply for a PTC through the State of New Jersey. It also reviews what is needed to apply through the state website and gives students time to ask questions.
Course overview
Course content and qualification
- Safe handling, loading and unloading, concealed-carry draw, and marksmanship fundamentals.
- Qualification is conducted on an FBI-style Q target; passing is 80%, meaning 40 of 50 rounds inside the target.
Live Fire Sequence
- 01
On instructor command, from a secured and concealed holster position, draw and fire five rounds; safely holster a decocked firearm where applicable.
- 02
Repeat the string twice for 10 rounds total; reload if required and safely holster.
- 03
Complete the course of fire at 3, 5, 7, 10, and 15 yards.
- 04
At completion, clear all firearms and holster a safe, empty firearm.
Cancellation Policy
Students are required to cancel at least 48 hours in advance of a class date in order to receive a full refund. Classes cancelled less than 48 hours before the class will not be refunded.
